National Novel Writing Month – Have you ever participated? If not, why not?

Insecure Writers Want to Know

National Novel Writing Month? Yikes! I have so much pressure on me now to write, to create, I don’t see how I could ever add to it.

Word counts mean nothing to me. I write almost every day. Blog posts. Newsletters. Writing presentations. Social media. I’m primarily a short story writer. I’m trying to put together a collection of middle grade adventure stories. I need to do one last reading of my college memoir. I’m researching publishing paths and learning new technology. [Okay, okay…Trying—I’m trying to learn new technology for writing and publishing. Happy?]

What I’m saying is that I don’t need any more pressure on me to work harder. I try not to look out the window and notice the beautiful fall colors, the leaves to crunch through, the trails to hike. Gosh! It’s difficult for me to take a break now from my writing deadlines. How could I ever add National Novel Writing Month to the mix?

But!

I wish all those who participate in National Novel Writing Month good luck. You are my champions. My heroes. Write strong, novel writers!

Once I have the new schedule for free writing workshops in 2024, I’ll post it under the Workshop Events tab at my website. Thank you!

I am extremely thankful for all of you for being my sounding board and advisors on this scary writing and publishing journey.

Thanks for stopping by my little spot on the web. Please come again!
